According to someone on the newsgroup roadrunner.kc.earlybird, they 
determined that the rapidly blinking data light was due to attempts 
to propagate the code red virus from infected machines, He was also 
able to provide a list of infected IP addresses, all on the Road 
Runner network.

Sounds as if Comcast at home is as responsive to this problem as is 
TimeWarner/AOL/RoadRunner --- "ignore it long enough and it will go 
away".
