Is a Linux newbie welcome?

I showed up a while back as a newbie (still am) and they haven't told me to
hit the trail yet. New members with questions and enthusiasm keep things
fresh and fun for most. Anyone that gives you grief for a "dumb" question
forgets that, at some point, he was asking the same "dumb" questions.

Do you have to be a Linux power-hacking guru of cyberspace? Or can you just
be an ordinary guy who's just installed Linux and is still trying to learn
how to get all the bits and pieces to work?
