He wants to move the files not only to burn them onto CD, but to also add them to his Adobe Premiere productions on the, you guessed it, WindowsXP machine. Also, his is a PowerMac bought when Mac OS 8.0 was *new*, I doubt there's a built-in Ethernet port. I have a newer PowerMac running Mac OS 8.1 and I had to install some generic NIC that happened to be Mac-compatible just to get Ethernet connectivity. I was browsing in MicroCenter and I happened to see some product advertised as being on the DVD edition of the UK magazine "LinuxFormat": Cooperative Linux. Claims it can run in a window of Windows XP or 2000, and share resources with WinXP/2k. I couldn't afford the DVD but I'm certainly going to look into it, since sharing the Ethernet port means I can run it on his WinXP machine and use Netatalk for connectivity to the Mac. ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand!
