I'm going to try Mepis tonight.  Based on Debian and Knoppix and has improved installer like 
Morphix does.  Might be a good desktop choice.  

Since the Debian guys haven't hurried up w/ an improved installer, everyone is installing a Knoppix 
variant.  Works for me.   I get a pretty good default software choice at install and then I just 
add or remove whatever software I need or don't want and then may need to edit the sources.list and 
then I'm done.
