Maybe the OOo guys should include links to MySQL and info on how to integrate it in OOo in the docs. Or how about installing MySQL in a sandbox if the desktop user needs a database. There ought to be a script to setup MySQL in a secure way, but such that a desktop user doesn't have to fiddle w/ permissions, save the data in the user's home dir, etc. Brian Kelsay >>> Rex Deaver <> 03/17/04 07:03PM >>> Access comes only with the more expensive Office Professional, Office Standard does not include it. And neither come standard with consumer computers. $460 for MS Office XP Pro, or $0 for OOo + MySql. Check out the how-tos that I linked to earlier, it makes interfacing with MySql via OOo nearly a no-brainer.
