If you're considering Mandrake, consider SuSE instead.  More up-to-date, 
better third-party driver support.

Unfortunately, Novell is only hosting the i386 files, and I don't know how 
good the rest of SuSE's servers are.

I found getting a good Mandrake image almost as much as a pain as finding a 
working update server.  Now my GUI package manager has gone nuts, and won't 
even install files from the local CD's.
