Slashdot used to look very cool in the lynx browser.  The sidebar was
ascii formatted in such a way, it showed a pretty picture of a flame.  
There were other pleasant surprises too.  Normal graphical browsers
couldn't see it!

I just tried it and unfortunately, it appears that idea was lost.
