As long as the motherboard actually recognizes the disk as present, Linux will usually address the whole thing just fine. Windows may be a different story. It's been a while since I've tried big drives in old boxes for a Windows install. I recall installing a 6G drive in a 486 for file serving a few years back. It worked like a champ running Redhat 5.2. I realize this doesn't answer the whole question, but I hope it helps. Rob
