Hi All, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." Whoever said that was probably talking about helping a family member with their computer. Last fall my adult daughter's computer was dieing. So her brother, with the assistance of their cousin who built systems, put a new box together for her. The only carryover was the hard drive. That has since failed and been replaced. They installed Winblows98 with all the latest patches and the latest drivers for the hardware. Since the new drive went in the system freezes regularly. This happens randomly and often enough that she uses her boy friend's system for school work. After several attempts at fixing it my son has washed his hands of the thing. My nephew is now a freshman at Notre Dame. Why don't you do something says her mother to me who has not assembled an IBM compatible computer newer than a 386. Anyway... Can someone suggest a reliable place to take the @#$**! machine to get this mess diagnosed? My duaghter lives near the Sprint Campus. I live not too far from the Bannister Mall.
