Forget that caveman stuff from Microsoft. I prefer IRC, ntalk, linphone,
kphone, etc, for my IM needs.  Commercial messengers spam poor quality
service and fewer features upon users.  Many of the linux messengers now
do voice and video conferencing.

This is not vaporware, spyware, adware, virusware, or even shareware, but
good old GPL that father RMS would certainly approve:
