A couple of users we moved at Sprint required to box to make their monitor and/or KVM work w/ both Sun and Winders desktop or laptop in dock. If they had a separate Sun Sparc 5 and Sun monitor (unless of VGA type) it was no problem. But Murphy visited upon those poor souls and at least two of them had their converter boxes misplaced. Took a couple of hours for spares to be run out to that building after someone described over the phone to a tech what the box was. none of us had a name or term for it at the time. I have only heard the term "converter box" when referring to them. Brian -- A Computer without Microsoft is like a chocolate cake without mustard. -as seen on IRC
