I need some help on getting my modem to work under drake 9, it is an AvTek megamodem 2000, which 
runs under winxp on a generic 56k type driver. however under drake in Kppp i get "modem ready", 
then simply "initializing modem", but under linuxconf it wont detect a modem, even when ports are 
specified. basically, its really starting to shit me, and i have to use XP to get a net connection, 
which i dont need to prove, is not cool. please help with any ideas you may have. I am a relative 
newbie so please dumb it down a little.
