I just noticed this article on Slashdot and don't recall anyone else discussing it here.

This potential FCC mandate sounds as though it has the potential to cause tremendous harm to Open 
Source software users, small digital video producers (ie anyone who might want to produce and 
distribute digital video but isn't a part of the big media cartels) and all consumers of digital 
video.  Please take the time to read the article and respond via this page if you find this issue 
important.
