I type this on my not so old dell c600, and am curious just how you plan
to replace the power supply on a dock.  Are you using the correct dock,
or just the one from your old c600.  If it is for the old puter, then
although the connector fits, it doesn't mean it is correct.

There are no local Dell dealers.  contact tell customer support.
