Mandrake 9: cds 1 and 2 are all really, cd 3 is the international cd, has all the program internationalizations on it. If you're REAL careful, you shouldn't need that cd. Although it probably contains some non-GPL or other rarely installed things on it as well. I don't recall seeing source cds on mandrake's site for 9.0, but there's probably some source files on the third cd as well. Redhat 8: First 3 cds are needed, maybe only really the first two... haven't installed RH in a loooong time. CDs 4 and 5 are source cds.
