All,  it's been awhile since I've had any problems.....but now I've got a
good one I think.

I have RH 7.3 installed on my laptop ( I know that's my first problem ;)  ),
and it boots to runlevel 5 so that I get a GUI login screen.  All is well
with boot up and display of the login screen.

When I put my username and password in, I am authenticated and the login
process begins.  Gnome will work fine from this point and go right into it's
environment, however if I want to use KDE, this is where the problems start.
Logging in with KDE, the screen flickers and begins to login to the
environment....it flickers a few more times (picking a resolution?) and then
puts me right back out to the login screen again.  What gives!!??  This
problem happens whether I'm logging into the KDE or Gnome environment.

Things I've tried:

1.  Made a new home directory for myself to remove the old kde and gnome
configuration stuff.....  (no worky, problem still exists.)
2.  Checked my XF86Config-4 files, and they appear to be all normal.
(shouldn't matter since gnome works fine)

Any ideas?
