And how can I get it to only backup certian directories? I've gotten it to work by specifying each tree that I want backedup on the command line, but shouldn't I just be able to list them in a file somewhere? (bruxpat)? If so, what would my command line be - backup from / but because of the inclusions in bruxpat just those will be backed up? Or do I have to specify the trees I want to back up and specify the ones I don't? What would happen to the ones I don't specify in bruxpat? Basically, I want to be able to add to a list of trees that gets backed up, then schedule a general bru command via cron (without listing any directories to back up on the command line). Can I do this using the bruxpat file? -Lucas ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Cavalieri To: Lucas Peet Sent: Monday, May 13, 2002 1:35 PM Subject: Re: Backup Software I used BRU 16.0 and now BRU 17.0 from www.tolisgroup.com, it has worked very well. I use it with bzip2 to get even more compression (uses gzip by default). -Bill On Mon, 2002-05-13 at 12:13, Lucas Peet wrote: Does anyone here have experience with Amanda or doing backups to a DAT drive with dump or cpio?
