I remember a while back someone posted that they were looking for somewhere to get an SSL 
certificate from a free / nonprofit place. I stumbled across a place that's close to that.

Well, it's no Verisign, and their price reflects that:

$49/year.  But it's signed by a 'Trusted' source, and would work great for a personal secure 
webserver.  Sure beats $400+ from Verisign/Thawte.
