SAVE YOURSELF! Don't go with Birch. Their admins couldn't route their way out of a paper bag. My company was on Birch for about 2 years. At _least_ twice a week their routing tables were h0sed. Painful. -----Original Message----- From: Charles Steinkuehler [mailto:charles@steinkuehler.net] Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2001 1:25 PM To: kclug@kclug.org Subject: DSL Provider Recommendations I'm just down the road in Topeka, and in the process of moving my ADSL service, which is currently with SWBT. Apparently, I can't simply transfer the DSL line, it has to be completely re-provisioned (ie a new order from the ground up), so I'm considering switching to SDSL. The two providers I've found so far are Birch Telecom, and DSL.net. Does anyone have experience with either of these providers? I realize their service in Topeka won't be exactly the same as in KC, but it should be generally similar (I'll likely be a couple hops farther from the 'net than anyone in KC). I'm running a website devoted to LRP (a tiny floppy-based firewall...see links below) that typically uploads around 7 Gig a month over my current 128K ADSL uplink, so even slow SDSL would be an improvement.
