I apologize if this is not the proper way to post job ops to this list. I was unable to find a FAQ or any info on the website as to the proper way. Please do not reply to this email address but rather use jason.baker@standardbeverage.com . We have a job opening in Lawrence for a Linux/Windows person. (I am leaving the company in a few weeks and headed to Sprint and am looking for someone to replace me.) You get to sink your teeth into everything -- Unix, Linux, HP-UX, Windows, web development, e-mail administration, and Telecom. But the duties expected of this person when they walk in the door will be PC desktop and Linux administration. (You can grow into the other stuff as you learn the job -- as I did.) Standard Beverage is a small company with an IT staff of 4 and a user base of 150. But Standard is very forwarding thinking: It adopted Linux almost 3 years ago and it has penetrated our networks in a major way (servers for file and print, faxing, and databases). We will be expanding into wireless handheld apps this year, and we will be developing our B2B website. The applicant will work in a casual environment: no ties, no slacks, jeans and sneakers. Travel is limited to Wichita and Lenexa unless it's for training classes -- which you decide on. As long as the training can benefit the company, it is usually approved. (I suggested training in Perl, and they paid for it.) The position is salary and 24x5 on call. We are a 24-hour operation, so you will have some late night calls, but these are very limited and usually only occur once every few months. Any applicant must be able to make decisions on one's own. Most projects are handed to you with a goal and the methods are left up to you with little intervention. This position is open immediately and needs to be filled within a few weeks. Please e-mail your resume to jason.baker@standardbeverage.com . Please, no MS word formats. Keep it to html, plain text, rtf or pdf. Thank you, Jason Baker Standard Beverage 1.800.999.9986 ext 6007
