9/29/2000 I am actively looking to change providers from Sound Net. I want to leave my linux box on all the time. Domain is registered. Does anyone have experience with dedicated 24x7 service over modem with either KCInternet(aka WorldInternet) or KCNet? How about any other providers? Afraid I must stick with modem connection. At 26,500 feet from the central office, I can only dream of high speed. And of course RoadRunner is not available for those of us that run servers. Can't justify T1 and probably not even fractional T1 though would be interested in what it might cost. Guess will have to call SWBell. Am interested in price of course, but price doesn't mean much if the provider can't reliably provide 24x7 service. (Have to ignore SWBell problems in the middle of course.) Part of the problem I see is getting Network Solutions to change the DNS entries to point to whoever I switch to. If that gets screwed up.... You would think with almost 9 pages of access providers in the yellow pages that this would be easy. As always, a referral is worth more than an ad in the yellow pages. Richard Johnson
