Yes, SAMBA allows you to set up a LINUX box to function as a
WinNT box in either a peer-to-peer or client server configuration.
SAMBA allows for a Primary Domain Controller(PDC) but not as
a Backup Domain Controller(BDC). SAMBA also allows the LINUX
box to function as a client on WinNT domain and/or as a peer in a
Win95/98/NT workgroup. SAMBA includes file and print share
support in all configurations listed above.

SAMBA is very cool! I currently have a Linux box at home set up
as a BDC for my home network. I have several WIN boxes that
log into the Domain created by SAMBA. Works great!!!

Depends on what you want to do with the Linux box...
If you just want the Linux box to act as a client on the domain, just set up samba to log into the 
server.  Last I checked, smb could not act as a "bdc" to a MS domain controller...  Just one 
warning, make sure the "Domain Master" param in smb.conf is set to no, or samba will fight with NT 
over who is gets Master Browser rights.  Here's a link to some smb docs that might help you out...

On the other hand, if you want the NT server to log into a samba controlled domain, uh... I'm 
afraid I haven't attempted this (very cool) possibility...  There's docs on it at samba.org, 
though, so someone's tried it.

	Do I only need Samba to get a Linux box up and running seamlessly on an NT
network, or are there other connectivity packages that I would need to use
as well?  I have a peer-to-peer network with a Win98 machine and 2 Linux
boxes set up at home, but I have never tried to insert a Linux box into an
NT domain.
