I am sure we could tell you what you want to know, you might want to
bring the pc to a meeting.....  that is if you don't know much about
technical stuff, and want to lesson the chances of losing data.

I am not familiar with the Red Hat Linux but 6.1 is the current version.

Slackware has an fdisk you can boot from floppy for linux
