For those curious, the Linux Demo Day event at Bartle hall was a complete success. Despite the rain and cold weather, approx. 40 some people from KULUA and KCLUG showed up to hand out CD's and promote Linux. There was no need to force our stuff on anyone either, there were plenty of people coming up and asking for it. The press releases that were issued were very helpful, many people mentioned they had read about us being there and that the primary reason they came was for the free Linux cd. The 800+ CD's that we had were gone by around 7:30, but there were still plenty of people who just wanted to talk with us about how to get more information and what was involved to do an install After the event, most people went on to Fuddruckers for dinner and t-shirts, stickers, boxed distributions, and plenty of other fun stuff was passed out to all the hard working advocates. Kudos go out to Jeffrey Watts and Dustin Decker from KULUA for really putting a lot of work into organizing the event. Everyone who showed up or helped in one way or another should also be proud that we definitely pulled this thing off without a hitch. I think that this successful outcome proves that there is definitely a very strong interest in Linux in the KC area and that there are plenty of people out there hungry for more information, we just need to start dishing it out. Mac p.s. We were approached by a police officer shortly after we showed up, but he just wanted to get a Linux cd.
