The attitude displayed above, is one of the reasons why few wish to
travel downtown and observe the "clique" that is the KCLUG.  

I think a lot of local LUG's would be a good thing.  It would be more
opportunities and more places to meet people and learn about Linux.  I
don't know about you, but I try to eat, sleep and breathe this stuff.  I
don't hear anyone dissin the BSLUG. I went to their last meeting, and
there was close to 20 people there. I don't know about you, but I WANT
to be a part of the movement. I WANT to bring Linux to the masses.  

So Independence isn't the hotbed of technological advancement in the
area. There was a need, and a resource, and those interested made it
work.  No harm, no foul, and it surely wasn't meant to take away from
the KCLUG.  It was meant, in my mind anyway, to enhance it.  I
personally have corresponded with several members of the KCLUG, asking
if people would be interested in doing presentations at an ILUG meeting,
or coordinating a presentation at the KCLUG, in attempt to bridge the
gap, and have had little or no interest expressed in return.

I had hoped it would be a sort of evolution, a form of growth, an
extension of KCLUG.  A few of us branched out in Independence, then I
found out about BSLUG.  I believe there is a Westport LUG. Pretty soon,
we have an entire community, a plethora of cogs, governed more or less
by a central coordinating wheel, if so desired.  All interacting, all
exchanging knowledge and information. That's my vision... I think it's
cool... wanna come along?
