Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a good weekend.  Today the sound stopped working in 
linux.  I get no sounds when playing a CD, no sounds in Quake 3, nothing, 
not even the little welcome sound when KDE starts.  Sound works fine in 
Windows.  I made no changes since the last time it worked.  I dual boot Win 
xp and mandrake 8.1 on a P4 with 256 megs of ram.  Any ideas?  Please take 
your time as I can't work on this until returning home from work Monday 
evening.

Another question.  How do I uninstall a program that was not installed using 
RPM?  Is is as simple as just deleting the directory it was installed into?
