Eric, you're so close to making it all work.  There were a couple things I
was taking for granted that I need you to check.  I need you to install the
ucd snmp package.  This includes a program called snmpwalk.  We need to verify
that mrtg can read your routers a-ok.  Once this package is installed do this:

snmpwalk -c public router-ip-address

Tell me what is returned.  If you don't get anything informative have your
local router guy enable SNMP on the router and set the snmp community read only
string to public.  I think that's why you're not getting anything on the graphs
