I know the debian bootable cd v2.1 for sparc works just fine.  You can down
load it from ftp://ftp.eecs.umich.edu/pub/linux/debian-cd  Get the split version
and then 'cat' it together if you are on a slow link.

Once burned, turn on your sparc, immediately hit "stop-a" combination of keys
and then type 'b cdrom' if you are using the new rom style bootprom.  If your
bootrom tells you it is in the old bootstyle, you need to enable the new boot
rom style first.
