dhclient screwed up my network settings

Ok, I'm sure I'm forgetting something basic.
My tv-lap-browsing-pc-running-debian now
can't do name lookups.
I can ping ip numbers but not names.
So ping 216.223.224.7 works
put ping www.yahoo.com brings back 
unknown host.

My eth0 is up, the route is up, I can ping the local
lan, I have the ISPs dns values in the resolv.conf
file and the gateway is set correctly.
I ran dhclient last night and it changed a number of
configuration settings. What am I missing?
