Yeah, I've just installed Linux off SLS and found that in fstab you have the
line:
/dev/hdxx /root ext2fs defaults
or the similar. If you change /root to / it will all work.

I think syssetup is supposed to do this for you. If not try the faqs.

Try kermit, it is definatly available stateside, but I downloaded it with
the rest of the SLS package.
