Subject: help installing linux on ibm thinkpad...
Date: 4 Sep 1993 10:55:17 GMT

I just got an IBM thinkpad 350c (specifically to run linux) and am
trying to install the SLS release.

However, when I try to run fdisk from linux boot, it does not
recognize the hard disk.

I tried downloading and booting the GCC boot disk, which says:
        WD8013 controler not found at i/o 20X

Any help? ideas?. Does this mean the HD controller in the thinkpad is
incompatible with linux? If so, does anyone have suggestions on a 486
laptop to run linux?

Config:
        IBM thinkpad 350c
        120 MB IDE 2.5" HD
        IBM DOS 5.02

thanx in advance,
rick
