I just purchased MetroLink's Motif development package for Linux (got
it Friday PM).
Here's what you get:
4 cpio-format disks
Motif pgmer's manual from O'Reilly
4 page installation instructions
Here's what's wrong:
*** No printed docs on mwm! Not even printed man pages!
*** Online man pages have bugs that make groff omit sections when formatting
them (like tables showing what resources to use to configure mwm)!
*** Some example programs supplied core-dump due to bugs in shared libs :-(
The first two problems combined tend to make this package unusable
unless you go buy a third party Motif user's guide. The third is really
just an annoyance and can be fixed by rebuilding with static libs.
Overall, this really looks like a beta release.
I have left them several messages over the weekend (both voice and email),
and am awaiting a response tomorrow (Tues 6-1-93) AM. I will post the
resolution to these problems when it comes.
