Subject: Any experience with POP3 mail server?
Date: Mon, 31 May 1993 20:12:55 GMT

Hi,
I have Linux successfully installed and running on a 386/25 and am
very happy with the results. Thanks to all who helped to put this OS
togther. I am using this system as a mail server for a small group of people
(<30) and several of them have WinQVTNET, a windows application that
provides TCP/IP functions short of running a mail daemon. To properly
receive mail under WinQVTNET a pop3mail server is required. My question(s)
is: Can such a package be implemented under LINUX/ has it been done already/
where is it available/ any experience with Installation?
Apparently, pop3mail isn't available in the SLS release, at least WinQVTNET
didn't recognize a pop3 mail server on the Linux machine and
sent a message back saying: sync sent, host is refusing connection.

Any help with this question is very much appreciated!

Thanks a lot in advance, -Borries Demeler, demeler@selway.umt.edu
