        Personally, I'm glad it was in there, as it did help me to learn
about that trick a lot faster than brousing the bash man page(s) would
have. If it's changed, I'd suggest commenting it out rather than
deleting it, as the example is handy.
        If you want to see slow, you should have seen the abomination I
came up with to put colours in my prompt with setterm before I figured
out how to get escape sequences working. 4 calls to setterm take a
longggg time.
        On a similar topic, I guess there's no way to search a man page
for text that's highlighted or bolded as the charater codes seen to
interfere.
