What about this:

comp.os.linux.announce (moderated) ...we already have that
comp.os.linux.answers (moderated) for META-FAQ, FAQ's, etc.
comp.os.linux.admin (unmoderated) system setup related things
comp.os.linux.apps (unmoderated) "is XXX available?"/"where can I get XXX?"
comp.os.linux.bugs (unmoderated) bug reports (and fixes)
comp.os.linux.d (unmoderated) advocacy, flame wars etc.
