Dear Linux Netters, I am a novice in un*x world and I need your help
installing Linux SLS! I got the first a1 disk to boot up on my machine
but not the boot disk (a2).
=================================
According to : faq.p2.mar93
III.05) Basically, you use rawrite to copy the a1 and a2 images onto floppies.
=================================
My question is how do I rawrite 9 different files using rawrite.exe ???
And I heard that the latest SLS is 1.02??? The SLS package from
tsx-11.mit.edu has fewer files in for a2 than sunsite.unc.edu and
?is? version 0.99.
ftp> ls a*
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list.
a1.3 <--------------\
a1.5 \--- I got a copy of this file and
a1.5.z rawritten it to the 14.4k Disk without
a1.old any Problems.
a2/bin4.tgz <-----------+
a2/diska2 |
a2/dosemu.tgz |
a2/faq.tar |
a2/image.tgz |------- According to the manual I should rawrite
a2/lilo.tgz | these files under a2 to root disk RIGHT?
a2/sc.tgz | How do I do that?
a2/shlibs.tgz |
a2/term107.tgz <-----------+
a3/theory.sls <-------------+
a3/diska3 |
a3/select14.tgz |
a3/vgalib.tgz |
a3/joe.tgz |----- Just copy them to the disk a3.
a3/base.tgz | No special treatments?
a3/national.tgz |
a3/mount.tgz |
a3/getty.tgz |
a3/etc.tgz |
a3/efs2.tgz |
a3/comms.tgz <-------------+
a4/install.end <----------+
a4/diska4 |
a4/zoneinfo.tgz |
a4/zafix.tgz |
a4/sysmap.tgz |
a4/syslogd.tgz |------ Again, copy straight to disk a4.
a4/sysadm.tgz | No special treatments?
a4/shadow.tgz |
a4/ps.tgz |
a4/mt.tgz |
a4/gzip101.tgz |
a4/devs.tgz |
a4/bin.tgz <----------+
I got the first disk working and after it boots up here is what I got...

No ethernet device found
Math Coprocessor using exception 16 error reporting.
Partition check:

Sorry to bug your guys...
I will be really happy if I can get Linux running on my machine!
