The 1542 _C_ did work for me without any special configuring with a
Fujitsu 2624FA (525 MB FAST-SCSI) and a DEC DSP 3085 (850 MB FAST-SCSI)
with no problems.

Now I use a Buslogic (Bustek) BT445 VLB controller.
