I have the opportunity to buy a surplus Adaptec AHA-1542 **A**.

This is obviously an earlier revision of the AHA-1542, and I was
wondering whether anyone can confirm that it works with Linux.

If not, which is the earliest revision of the AHA-1542 to work with
Linux, and which is the most reliable?
