I agree totally with this. I think we could manager without the
software, and advocacy groups though. I think splitting to three groups
.coding, .setup, and .bugs would be very valuable.

One other question. What happens to those of us that depend on the
mailing lists to get the news? Do we lost most of it, or would new mailing
lists be started up to cover the other groups?

I agree totally with this. Best to split by function, not by competance.
