Subject: [Q] No logins possible after kernel upgrade ?

I upgraded the kernel from 0.99pl4 to 0.99pl7, and cannt login
anymore, root or anything else. I get the "login:" prompt, and after
I type the user-id I get back the "login:" prompt. Single-user boots
are still possible.

Any solutions ?
