I'll second that. Just about the only reason I'm keeping OS/2 and DOS
on my machine is that I want to be able to use Lotus Ami Pro under
Windows - or more precisely under Win-OS2, because Windoze 3.1 crashes
my system with long documents..... WP is, IMO, horrible and I wouldn't
give it house room. WYSIWYG is very important if you are doing
anything like DTP or writing a book with diagrams and pictures. The
Tex/LaTex approach is all well and good, but I'd like to know what
things are going to look like *right now*: I have this super-powerful
computer (compared with what I grew up with anyway) so let's put it to
proper use.
As for the claim by AT&T that WYSIWIG Wp didn't reduce the development
time compared to LaTex (quoted by somebody earlier): did they factor
in the learning curve at all? I started using Ami Pro productively (as
did my wife) in a few minutes; I don't have the *time* to learn LaTex,
wonderful though it might be.
