Subject: Alternative to linux echo command

I read an article a while ago where someone was looking for an alternative
to the standard echo that comes with SLS Linux. Someone replied to this
article saying that there is a gnu echo that would support newlines,
formfeeds, escape sequences, etc. I have looked for the source to this
gnu echo and have not been able to locate it. I found a binary but when
I tried to use it I got an error invalid libc.so.4. Does anyone know
where I can get the source for the gnu echo?
