There is an amazing feature in termftp. It has the option compress, which
when you are transfering compressed files, it EXPANDS them, decreasing the CPS
rate to an unbelivable rate. I was getting the same results, and when I found out
about this option, (which does not seem to be part of the known ftp
implementation), and turned it off, I got FANTASTIC CPS rates out of termftp.
