Subject: Why termftp so slow?

Recently, I've upgraded from a 9600bps modem to a 14400bps modem. When I
use termftp to transfer files from the host to my Linux box, there is no
gain in speed (I got about 0.5kbytes/s with a 9600 modem, and now, it's
the same). I've already put the line "baudrate 38400" in ~/.term/termrc
on both sides. Would anyone please help?
