The purpose of this service is to help those who are not yet capable
of helping themselves and reduce some traffic in the news group.
Those who are new to Linix, netnews, and have now previous UNIX
experience, can feel really lost. My goal is to help them get going.

If you can get it yourself and can get the help you need in the news group,
then you don't need my service. Please don't get offended. The reason
the disks are free is to avoid the trouble of sales tax. I am basically
selling help/consultation as fill in work while I develop commercial products
for Linux. The disks are a courtesy for customers. It also makes sure
the they have a SLS rev that matches the current guides.

As for the legality in the US, it is legal. The software is copyrighted but
only expressions of ideas are copyrightable not the ideas themself. My
disks state the tradmarks of SLS and Linus on the box. My documentation
does the same and mentions that the software is copyrighted and refers
the reader to the sources for more information.

When the distributions settle down and a book or two has been written
about Linux, these kind of services will not be as neccessary. Until
then, you can by this service and if you follow the notes, the success
rates of installations will be very good.
