I've got a bit of a problem here. I'm just trying to test out a few
net-based programs with the loopback "device" under 0.99.8A and I THINK
I've got things set up correctly (I've compiled the kernel with tcp/ip
support, I've put a call to rc.net in my rc.local file). I've got my
hosts file in both /etc and /usr/etc/inet -- each "hosts" file has only
ONE line:
127.0.0.1 nehwon
(I just need a connection to my own machine after all).
gethostbyname() does not seem to find the entry though. (it returns NULL).
Any suggestions? (email would be best, thanks).
