I think Rick is providing a valuable service for people who want
to see the list of device numbers in a human-readable format without
digging through the kernel source or even through a MAKEDEV script.

A standard MAKEDEV script would be nice, and definitely a valuable
thing, but wouldn't really replace what Rick is doing now.

Thanks, Rick! Your list was useful to me the last time I had trouble
getting my serial ports to work. It's nicely formatted for quickly
looking up the information that I need. (The problem turned out to
be an IRQ conflict, but at least I _knew_ that I had the right devices
in /dev. No matter what their names were.)
