I had a problem with this when I moved to .99pl9. Are you getting a
message at boot time saying "MCD - No drive found" or are you just not
getting any message from the MCD driver. In my case it was the latter.
The cause was a failed patch which did not install mcd_init() into
the main initialisation routine for the Kernel.

If you are getting a message saying the drive is not found then it
may be the base address or IRQ coded in mcd.c is not correct.
