Subject: [e2]fsck of / partition while booting up
Date: 5 May 1993 19:15:52 GMT

Anyone know what the proper procedure is for doing an [e2]fsck of the root
partition during bootup? I tried compiling 0.99pl9 to mount the "/"
partition readonly so I could do this, but I ran into problems when I modified
/etc/rc -- couldn't get the partition remounted as read/write!

this could be a problem with the kernel or with mount, or with my understanding
of which files are accessed/executed during bootup.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I'm using e2fsprogs-0.3, if that makes any difference. My / partition is
ext2fs.
