I'm also having consistent problems with 0.99pl9. This happens when I
start up X:
May 4 12:21:31 gamble vmlinux: Unable to handle kernel paging request at address c0000000
May 4 12:21:31 gamble vmlinux: Oops: 0000
May 4 12:21:31 gamble vmlinux: EIP: 0008:00022F62
looks like somewhere in unix_proto_connect ^^^^^
May 4 12:21:32 gamble vmlinux: EFLAGS: 00010246
May 4 12:21:32 gamble vmlinux: fs: 0017
May 4 12:21:32 gamble vmlinux: base: 00000000, limit: C0000000
May 4 12:21:33 gamble vmlinux: Pid: 471, process nr: 10
May 4 12:21:33 gamble vmlinux: ff 00 8b 56 10 8b 46 14 8b 40
although X continues to come up, and the system appears to be OK.
I also find that the system will lock up completely after several hours
of use.
I have gone back to 0.99pl8 which is perfectly stable and doesn't exhibit
any of these problems.
